Acrylic bathtub sheets VS ordinary bathtub sheets

Compared with traditional steel plates, cast iron and other common bathtub materials, the core advantages of acrylic (PMMA) bathtub panels lie in five aspects: insulation, touch sensation, shape, weight and maintenance. The overall user experience is more comfortable and the cost performance is higher.

I. Core Advantage Comparison

1. Excellent insulation performance (the most prominent feature)

Acrylic: Has an extremely low thermal conductivity, resulting in slow cooling of hot water and stable water temperature during long baths. It feels gentle on the skin, and it doesn't make your hands feel cold in winter.

Steel plate / cast iron: Metals have high thermal conductivity, causing the water temperature to cool quickly and making the tank cold. The body feels poor in terms of comfort.

2. Design and appearance (the top choice for appearance)

Acrylic: Extremely malleable, it can be molded into various shapes such as arcs, irregular shapes, embedded, standalone, etc.; it has a wide range of colors and high gloss.

Steel plate / cast iron: Limited by stamping / casting, the shape is simple and mostly in traditional straight cylindrical form.

3. Weight and Installation (Light and User-Friendly)

Acrylic: Light in weight (about 1/4 of cast iron), easy to handle and install, no pressure on floor load-bearing capacity.

Steel plate: Medium weight.

Cast iron: Extremely heavy, installation requires hoisting, caution is needed for old houses / floor load-bearing capacity.

4. Touch and Safety (Comfortable and Safe)

Acrylic: Surface is soft and resilient, less likely to cause pain or breakage upon impact.

Steel plate / cast iron: Hard and cold, prone to injury and porcelain breakage upon collision.

5. Maintenance and Repair (Reliable and Long-lasting)

Acrylic:

Minor scratches can be repaired with toothpaste, with certain self-repair capability.

Surface is dense and smooth, less prone to dirt accumulation and easy to clean.

Steel plate / cast iron:

Once enamel breaks / scratches occur, it cannot be repaired, and it will rust, seep water, and expand the damage.

Cleaning is easy, but the repair cost is extremely high.

6. Price and Cost Performance (Affordable and Mainstream)

Acrylic: Low cost, affordable price, high cost performance.

Steel plate: Medium price.

Cast iron: Expensive (usually 2-5 times that of acrylic).
